Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 18 Apr 2026
1. What this covers
This policy explains how ShowMenu handles restaurant workspace data, guest orders, waiting tickets, admin sessions, uploaded files, optional Google integrations, and advertising settings.
2. Data we may process
- Restaurant profile data, menu content, prices, QR pages, tables, and settings
- Guest order details, waiting queue entries, and billing records
- Admin account data, login events, password hashes, and session identifiers
- Uploaded images, PDFs, and other media saved by restaurant admins
- Technical logs, request metadata, and error reports used for reliability and abuse prevention
3. Cookies and sessions
Sessions are used for login state, CSRF protection, cart handling, and queue workflow. Essential cookies and session storage are required for the platform to function. Where advertising is enabled, Google may use cookies or similar technologies according to its own policies and settings.
4. How the data is used
- To run menus, order flow, waiting lists, billing, and admin tools
- To keep accounts secure and reduce fraudulent or automated access
- To deliver optional Google AdSense and platform ad features when enabled by the site owner
- To troubleshoot errors, monitor service health, and maintain performance
5. Storage and retention
- Data is stored in the configured database and file storage on your hosting account
- Temporary cache, queue, and export files may be rotated or deleted by cleanup jobs
- Restaurants can retain or remove operational data based on their settings and local requirements
6. Security measures
- Password hashing for account credentials
- Role-based access control and tenant isolation
- CSRF checks, secure sessions, rate limiting, and request boundaries
- Security headers, anti-clickjacking controls, and safe default indexing rules
7. Google AdSense and verification
When AdSense is enabled, the site can load Google ad code on public pages, use the configured publisher account, and expose an /ads.txt file for ad verification. Search Console verification tokens can also be saved in the admin settings and rendered into the page head.
8. Data sharing
We do not sell personal data. Information is shared only with the restaurant team, with selected service providers needed to operate the platform, or when required by law.
9. Your controls
Restaurant admins control their own workspace settings, menu content, waiting features, and optional integrations. Guests should contact the restaurant directly regarding order or queue data. Site visitors can manage browser cookies and ad preferences through their browser and Google account settings.
